Shaw Trust approach to Research
Shaw Trust is increasing its involvement in both commissioning and participating in research projects in the field of disability, disadvantage and employment.
The government's stated aim is to 'rebuild the welfare state around work'. Shaw Trust seeks to support disabled and disadvantaged people who are seeking work.
Shaw Trust also aims to provide support to employers so that they are better placed to provide employment opportunities for disabled and disadvantaged people.
Shaw Trust intends to commission and then publish research into a number of areas which will improve understanding about the barriers to employment that disabled and disadvantaged people face.
Shaw Trust is developing working relationships with a range of research partners, including academic institutions, to ensure that such research is subject to the rigours of academic scrutiny.
Details of current research projects are available on request
