Annual parliamentary reception
The General Social Care Council's annual parliamentary reception will be held on Wednesday 3 March in the House of Lords.
The theme for the event is: Taking forward the Social Work Task Force: where now for social work regulation?
This is a time of great change in social work. The recent Social Work Task Force's report was clear about the scale of reform needed to transform the profession. As the social work regulator in England, we look forward to working towards implementing these changes efficiently and effectively.
The reception is being hosted by Baroness Pitkeathley, Chair of the Council for Healthcare Regulatory Excellence. Rosie Varley OBE, Chair of the GSCC will speak alongside a social worker and service user who will be sharing with us their personal experience of social work.
