Disabilities Trust
The Disabilities Trust is a highly respected, progressive national charity, providing residential accommodation, brain injury rehabilitation (through our division the Brain Injury Rehabilitation Trust) personal support services and education for people with physical disabilities, acquired brain injury and learning disability, as well as children and adults with autism.
Founded in Sussex in 1979, today we provide a national network of high quality and innovative services right across the country, aimed at empowering each of our service users to live more fulfilling, independent lives. Through our modern, progressive facilities, complemented by a skilled staff team, we currently support nearly 1000 people with complex disabilities.
We are always looking to develop our service provision further. For example, in recent years, we have taken over the management of a special school for children with autism in Berkshire and a service for adults with learning disabilities in Essex. We are also rapidly expanding our residential and community-based services across the country to meet growing demand for our expert brain injury rehabilitation services. And work is progressing on the Trust’s first service in Scotland, a brain injury rehabilitation centre in Glasgow, which we hope to open in the near future.
