The First Meeting

The first meeting of the Cross-Party Inquiry into Childhood Leukaemia and ELF EMF took place on Monday 8 May and all five MPs (Michael Connarty, Dr Ian Gibson, Sandra Gidley, Nick Hurd and Dr Howard Stoate) were present. Liz Owen, of Opinion Leader Research, gave evidence to the Inquiry. Also in attendance were Edward Copisarow (Chief Executive of CHILDREN with LEUKAEMIA), Baroness Morgan of Drefelin (a trustee of CHILDREN with LEUKAEMIA), Chantelle Roberts (CHILDREN with LEUKAEMIA) and four observers - Mary Richardson (Stirling Before Pylons), Carol Putter (Stirling Before Pylons), Mike Hale (CLC) and Jane Smith (National Grid). The Inquiry secretariat, Pall Mall Consult, was represented by Catherine Nestor, Jonathan Wedgbury and Baroness Thornton.

The Inquiry considered quantitative and qualitative public opinion research commissioned by CHILDREN with LEUKAEMIA on the public's views on EMF exposure. You can download the reports here.

The Inquiry also heard evidence from Liz Owen of Opinion Leader Research, the company which carried out the research. Liz explained the results and answered questions.
