Facts about CCCS

Clients

In 2007 CCCS will take over a million calls from new callers and existing clients. Around 400,000 new clients will be contacting us for the first time seeking help to resolve their debt problems. For most we are able to arrange a debt counselling appointment and offer either a Debt Management Plan (DMP) or Individual Voluntary Arrangement (IVA) to manage their debts and repay their creditors. We offer self help packs to others which provide an A-Z guide to dealing with debt and supports them in dealing with creditors themselves. Existing DMP clients make on average between four to six calls during the year needing guidance and support whilst repaying their debts.

Debt Advice

Over 230 trained and accredited counsellors provide FREE, confidential and independent advice to clients working with them to find the best solution for their individual circumstances. This is normally provided over the telephone, although a face to face option is available if the client prefers. Additionally we provide on-line counselling and debt solutions through debt remedy on our website www.cccs.co.uk for those with internet access. With over 15 years experience which ever option the client chooses they can rest assured they will receive the best advice and outcome for their personal situation.

Support

We have a dedicated customer service team to help clients with general enquiries, correspondence, payment queries and account information. Every month clients receive a statement confirming the deposit received, the amounts paid to each individual creditor, and the outstanding balance still to be repaid. Our client support team deal with changes in client circumstances, and conducts an annual review with every client. Around 50% of clients have access to our client membership services website and are able to administer their repayment plan on-line.

Creditors

CCCS is funded by contributions from creditors. It is supported by major banks, finance houses and debt collection agencies, but works with all types of creditor. Around 50% of the people who contact us are recommended by their creditors. In 2007 over £200 million will be repaid to creditors by CCCS clients with total outstanding debts of £2.3 billion.
