Current Issues - Food Contact
The European Paper & Board industry has taken the initiative, by writing a guideline for the manufacture of paper and board materials and articles intended for food contact. The intention is to increase consumer confidence in the product and provide the Commission with a precursor for proposed legislation on a specific measure for paper and board.
A working group, drawn from all parts of the paper packaging chain has constructed the guideline, which has now been reviewed by industry and due for publication towards the end of 2007.
If you would like further information regarding this issue, or any other matters relating to paper & board in food contact, please email Andrew Barnetson, Corrugated Sector Manager abarnetson@paper.org.uk.
