Health and educationCamden is the home to the world-famous Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children, and major teaching hospitals including University College Hospital and the Royal Free Hospital. The world’s largest medical research charity, the Wellcome Trust, is also located in the borough. Many of the campuses of the University of London are based in the heart of Bloomsbury including University College, Birkbeck College and the School of Oriental & African Studies. The council maintains 41 primary, nine secondary and six special schools as well as a number of youth and early years centres.
