  • Emergency response: We respond to hundreds of emergencies in the UK every year in support of the emergency services. Our fully trained volunteers provide vital assistance following floods, fires, major incidents, and transport accidents.
  • First aid: We provide first aid education for thousands of people in the UK each year, teaching them crucial life-saving skills and helping to build community resilience. Our trained volunteers also provide first aid cover at public events.
  • Health and social care: We provide a range of services to enable people to continue living an independent life, including short term care in the home, loan of medical equipment such as wheelchairs, and transport services.
  • Refugees and asylum seekers: Here in the UK, our trained volunteers provide much needed support to thousands of vulnerable asylum seekers and refugees every year, helping them to access local services and adjust to life in a new country.
  • International tracing and message service: Conflict and natural disasters can often separate families, who lose contact with one another. The Red Cross works worldwide to restore and maintain contact between families by carrying messages and helping trace missing relatives.
