Press Release
Welcome for childcare funding
7 November 2007
The Professional Association of Nursery Nurses (PANN) has welcomed the childcare funding announced today (7 November 2007) by the DCSF.
PANN Senior Professional Officer Tricia Pritchard said: "We welcome this announcement. However, we hope that this funding will be sufficient to meet the costs of providing free entitlement, as this has been a problem for some providers.
"It is also crucial that there are sufficient numbers of trained and qualified staff available to deliver the provision. Unfortunately, childcare is a low wage profession, which isn't an incentive to recruitment."
