UKTFA STRENGTHENS ITS PRESENCE AT ECOBUILD

6 February 2008

The UK Timber Frame Association (UKTFA) will be promoting low and carbon timber frame projects at this year’s Ecobuild, with a strong presence both in terms of stand (E130) and sponsorship of the Arena Café, the exhibition’s centrepiece for debates, keynotes and special events.

Jonathan Jennings of Kingspan Offsite, Project Manager of the UK’s first net zero carbon home, the Kingspan Lighthouse, will also be speaking at a seminar on sustainable building with timber.

The UKTFA’s stand will provide visitors with an interactive experience where they can ‘take the timber test’ to reveal interesting and surprising facts and figures about timber frame, as well as testing their knowledge on the eco-credentials of timber frame construction.

Stewart Dalgarno, Chairman of the UKTFA, said: “Ecobuild is an important exhibition for us as it gives us the opportunity to showcase the timber frame industry and demonstrate how easy it is to meet the requirements for low and zero carbon buildings using this method of construction.

“There is still so much the industry can do to convert builders to using more timber frame.  We will be using this opportunity to talk to the designers and the developers and provide them with the  information they need.”

Ecobuild takes place at London’s Earls Court from 26-28 February.  Visit the UKTFA on stand E130.
