Statement on Cabinet Reshuffle

Speaking today, following the Cabinet reshuffle, Stuart Etherington, Chief Executive, NCVO said:
“We are very grateful to Ed Miliband, for the valuable support he has given to the voluntary sector during his time in the Cabinet Office.
“Ed Miliband has been a vigorous champion for us and has led many important initiatives, for example the recently announced Centre for Charitable Giving and Philanthropy.
“We now look forward to working closely with Liam Byrne and we anticipate that he will continue to be a strong voice for the sector.”
“We are also very grateful to Phil Hope MP, the outgoing voluntary sector minister for being such a champion for the voluntary and community sector during his time in office.”
I am very much looking forward to meeting Kevin Brennan MP, the newly appointed Minister for the Third Sector.”
