Stagecoach UK Bus Strengthens Management Team

28 April 2006

Stagecoach UK Bus has strengthened its management team with the appointment of two new directors effective from 1 May 2006.

Tom Wileman is promoted from Managing Director Scotland to Regional Director North West, with specific responsibility for Cumbria, Lancashire and Merseyside operations.

He will retain responsibility for the Scottish Citylink joint venture, and will assist Stagecoach UK Bus Managing Director Les Warneford on other business development projects in the expanded northern region.

Tom began his career 35 years ago with Scottish Bus Group and joined Stagecoach in 1990 at the company’s Fife operations.

He has subsequently held positions as Operations Director East Midlands, and Managing Director with Stagecoach’s Fife, Bluebird and Manchester businesses.

Robert Andrew is promoted from Deputy Managing Director Scotland to Managing Director Scotland, with overall responsibility for the Bluebird, Strathtay, Fife and Western companies.

Further appointments to the Stagecoach Scotland management team will be made in due course.

Robert started his career in the bus industry in 1985 with Scottish Bus Group’s Kelvin and Western companies. He joined Stagecoach in 1992 as Operations Manager Inverness, and has subsequently held positions as Operations Director Bluebird and Fife, and Managing Director Fife and East Scotland.

Les Warneford said: “I would like to congratulate both Tom and Robert on their deserved promotions. These appointments will further strengthen our UK Bus management team as we continue to grow our successful bus operations across the country.”
