PAT WELCOMES BEHAVIOUR PROGRAMME ANNOUNCEMENT
06 July 2007
The Professional Association of Teachers (PAT) has welcomed the announcement by the Education Secretary of an additional £13.7 million over four years to improve behaviour in schools through the Social and Emotional Aspects of Learning (SEAL) programme.
PAT General Secretary Philip Parkin said: “PAT supports this measure, which is an extremely positive step forward for the Government to take.
“We welcome the extra funding, but hope that the programme will continue to be funded beyond the four year period announced today.
“SEAL was backed by the Steer Report on pupil behaviour and the Practitioners' Group was very impressed by the whole programme.”
