Press Release

New ITQ framework and qualification structures documentation now available

    17/04/09

The new ITQ qualification structure and assessment strategy documentation based on the NOS for IT Users 2009 is now available from the e-skills UK website.

The new NVQ/SVQ for IT users (ITQ) has been developed as part of a comprehensive project that involved a full review of the National Occupational Standards for IT users.

The NOS have been brought up-to-date given both the rapidly changing IT user environment and developments across the UK, and to streamline the format and layout of standards in readiness for transition to qualifications based on national qualifications frameworks.

The second part of the review project focused on updating the ITQ qualification structure and assessment strategy in the light of the new national qualification and credit frameworks. The new ITQ 2009 suite offers QCF-qualification at 3 levels and of 3 sizes, and should be widely available from August 2009 onwards.

The documentation is now available at www.e-skills.com/itq/nos.

e-skills UK are hosting a series of Information Days for training providers to understand the new QCF qualifications and the transition from our existing NVQ for IT users. To find out more and register, go to www.e-skills.com/itq/infodays.
