New Advice and Guidelines on Professional Conduct for Dispensing Opticians
30 June 2005New Advice and Guidelines have now been published and they replace those issued in 2003.
The Advice and Guidelines, although not exclusive, are issued in pursuance of the Association of British Dispensing Opticians’ (ABDO) objectives in maintaining for the public benefit the highest standards of professional competence and conduct. Attention is drawn to new forms of practice or duties particularly in the provision of Contact Lenses following recent Parliamentary approval of the Section 60 Order introducing amendments to the Opticians Act 1989. Fresh or amended advice to the profession will continue to be issued whenever changing circumstances require.
