Press Release
NESTA event with Lord Drayson: Attack the Recession
27 November 2008
The event marks the launch of a NESTA report - ‘The Networked Recession' - which will highlight how in an ultra-connected world, events a thousands miles away can affect us almost immediately.
It will argue that the UK needs targeted investments on infrastructure, alongside a new economic strategy that reflects the changing nature of the economy.
Lord Drayson, Minister of State for Science and Innovation will make a keynote speech on the importance of innovation in an economic downturn. He will then join a panel discussion with Brent Hoberman, co-founder of Lastminute.com and Charlie Leadbeater, innovation expert and NESTA Visiting Fellow to consider the opportunities arising out of the downturn.
