HPC launches new-look public facing literature
29 October 2007
From October 2007 the Health Professions Council will roll out a set of new-look public facing literature as part of its ongoing commitment to highlighting the importance of using a registered health professional.
The newly designed posters, leaflets and window stickers aim to inform the public about the role of the HPC and the benefits of using a registered health professional. They also give information on what steps to take if a member of the public is concerned about a health professional or wants to make a complaint.
The promotional materials will be distributed to GP surgeries across the UK and Patient Advice and Liaison Services Offices in all NHS Trusts across England. Additionally, they will be sent to selected pharmacies and can be requested by registrants wanting to display them in their workplace. It is expected that registrants in private practice wishing to advertise the fact that they are a registered health professional will find the literature especially useful.
Advertising reinforcing the message will appear on Yell.com and Google from the end of October and advertising in the yellow pages will be rolled out across the next 12 months under the headings for chiropodists / podiatrists and physiotherapists. Advertising promoting the literature to registrants will also appear in some professional journals.
HPC President, Anna van der Gaag commented: “I am delighted with the new promotional materials. Our hope is that this literature will make the HPC more accessible to the public and really help to raise the profile of registered health professionals. The HPC is constantly striving to inform the public of the importance of regulation and choosing a registered health professional.”
This new promotional material, which replaces the existing ‘Be safe, be sure’ public facing literature, has been produced as part of the HPC’s ongoing campaign to educate and inform the public about its work and the importance of registration for health professions. The decision to revise the existing promotional literature comes following market research with registrants and the public.
