Engineering Diploma students to exhibit in Parliament

Students of the new 14-19 Engineering Diploma will be showcasing their work to eminent guests from the engineering community and MPs from all of the major parties, on 11 November at the House of Commons.
he event, organised by the Institution of Engineering & Technology (IET), will be jointly hosted by Tim Boswell, Member of Parliament for Daventry and Nigel Fine, Chief Executive of the IET.
Tim Boswell MP commented: "I am really looking forward to speaking to the students and seeing the work they have been doing for the Engineering Diploma. This is an innovative exhibition. We don't often have students exhibiting their work in Parliament."
Students from the following schools and colleges will be exhibiting:-
-Newstead Wood Girls Grammar School, Orpington.
-Frankley City Learning Centre, Birmingham.
-Newham College, London.
-Queen Elizabeth's Grammar School, Lincolnshire
Nigel Fine, chief executive of the IET added: "Initial feedback about the Diploma has been most encouraging with students and teachers across the country reporting that the Diploma is highly engaging. Universities are recognising that the Diploma includes challenging content and provides a good foundation for a university path?.
The event presents an ideal opportunity to demonstrate how the Engineering Diploma will help develop future generations of skilled engineers by placing engineering at the heart of the curriculum for the first time.”
