    EMF Policy Seminars 2008 - Forced Marriage (Civil Protection) Act 2007

    The Ethnic Minority Foundation cordially invites you to participate in a policy seminar with key Government representatives and stakeholders to discuss the issue of Forced Marriage, within the context of the current consultation run by the Ministry of Justice on Forced Marriage (Civil Protection) Act 2007 - Relevant Third Party.

    We are delighted that Bridget Prentice MP, Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State at the Ministry of Justice will be able to share with us the Government’s perspective on the Forced Marriage Act.

    The seminar will be chaired by Lord Bhatia OBE, Chairman of EMF, with an introduction from Dr Krishna Sarda (Hon) FRSA, Chief Executive of EMF.

    The event will also feature contributions from Gillian Brooks, Implementation Manager – Forced Marriage (Civil Protection) Act 2008 at the Ministry of Justice, who will provide an overview of the Ministry’s Consultation; and Hannah Buckley, Home Office Policy Adviser at the Foreign & Commonwealth Office’s Forced Marriage Unit, who will explore the work of the Unit.

    Delegates will have an opportunity to engage in debate with the speakers during the ensuing Roundtable Discussion.
