Edexcel continue support for the EOA
Wednesday, July 9 2008
Karen Pickthall is being presented at the Examination officers' Association (EOA) Conference, near Macclesfield, with her BTEC (level 4) Professional Certificate in Managing Examinations. Karen is the first member of the EOA to complete a course under their new professional development programme.
When asked about receiving her BTEC Karen said, "I'm really pleased to gain this qualification. I already feel it will help give me confidence in dealing with what ever the examination system throws at me. I want to share my experience and support with others. I am joining the new national EOA BTEC team which provides peer support to the rest of my colleagues in the exams office."
The role of an examination officer is often very isolated and pressured with little or no time off to attend courses. The EOA online service reaches every centre in the country and backed by it's grass roots workshop programme offers members the professional status and profile they deserve.
Edexcel endorses the important work of the EOA in supporting the professionalism of examination office staff in schools and colleges and continues to support this work through sponsorship of the EOA conference programme this year.
The new BTEC suite of qualifications offered by the EOA is being re-launched this September with a number of new features and will incorporate material and resources from a broad range of sources including other awarding bodies, government agencies and other educational providers.
