British Safety Council Opens State Of The Art Learning Zone In Hammersmith
21st January 2009
Next week the British Safety Council (BSC) opens a new £1m state-of-the-art health and safety training centre and Learning Zone at its head office in Hammersmith, west London.
The launch on Thursday 27 January will be attended by local business leaders, many of whom will be taking part in a Directors course on the day. During the launch, pupils from two local schools will provide a demonstration class in health and safety and Chef John Paul Dineen will be on site to serve up ‘brain food’ dishes proven to stimulate brain activity. Earlier in the morning Health and Safety Minister Lord McKenzie will unveil a special plaque to mark the official launch of the centre.
With the opening of its Learning Zone, the British Safety Council aims to make health and safety education accessible and attractive to all kinds of students, from company directors and health and safety managers to young people entering the workplace for the first time.
This high-tech training facility will create a new generation of risk aware individuals who can contribute to society through an awareness of the importance of good health and safety systems – enabling businesses to save lives, minimise accidents, improve health and increase their bottom line.
