Age Concern's response to proposals for anonymity for older people in court

    18 June 2008

In response to Louise Casey’s review ‘Engaging Communities in Fighting Crime’ published today, Age Concern's Director General, Gordon Lishman, said:

"Giving potentially vulnerable older people the option of anonymity in court sounds like a good idea. Making it easier for older people to testify against their perpetrator could encourage more people to do so and should therefore help to improve confidence in the criminal justice system."
