Terrorism

?Following on from the discovery of two cars in London packedwith explosive devices and the attempted suicide attack at Glasgowairport Roger Godsiff said ?the Police, Security Services with thevigilance of other public services have prevented another appallingat mass murder in London and Glasgow. The fact that one ofthe devices was parked outside of a popular London nightclub showsthe sole intention of the killers was to kill and maim as manyyoung people as possible. Suicide bombers at Glasgow Airportdeliberately picked a busy holiday period in order to try and killfamilies with young children. The fact that one of theattempted suicide bombers at Glasgow Airport is now being given thebest NHS medical attention in order to keep him alive while it hasnow been reported that a number of people who the Police andSecurity Services have arrested were actually Doctors workingwithin the NHS will not be lost on the public of thiscountry. These two attempts at mass murder are a chillingreminder that there are, sadly, individuals within our society whodo not want to live in a secular, tolerant democratic society andwill stop at nothing to destroy our society and to replace it withtheir own religious law. Each and every one of us, of everydifferent race and creed while British citizens and who want tolive in a secular society under the rule of law have aresponsibility to speak out against attempts of mass murder and toreport to the authorities any suspicious activities which they haveknowledge of. This is particularly true of the communitiesfrom which the murderers and suicide bombers come from. Therewill, I am sure, be some people who try and ?deny? what hashappened, as some people have done in the past when similaroutrages have occurred, and try and protest that this is some sortof Machiavellian plot dreamed up by MI5 or MI6 to target oneparticular section of our society. People who try and ?deny?what has happened and others who try and offer ?excuses orjustifications? for attempted mass murder are nothing more thanapologists for terrorism.
