Michael is currently the Chair of the European Scrutiny SelectCommittee. The Committee assesses the legal and/or politicalimportance of each EU document, decides which EU documents aredebated, monitors the activities of UK Ministers in the Council,and keeps legal, procedural and institutional developments in theEU under review.

This summer Michael was elected as the Vice Chair of the APPG ofthe above group. To discuss issues connected with the operation ofthe pharmaceutical industry in the UK; to exchange information andviews with the pharmaceutical companies; to debate pharmaceuticaldevelopments and their impact on patients and UK healthcare.
