MAKING CONTACT
I am always happy to receive letters or emails from all of my constituents. Please bear in mind there is a strict rule that MPs do not take up cases involving constituents of other MPs. If I receive a letter from someone else's constituent, I would normally send it on to the correct MP.
The constituent's address indicates which Member of Parliament should take up the issue. You may wish to write to me to raise your point of view or inform me of a problem you would like to bring to my attention. It is always helpful to have any enclosures which are relevant and the most effective way of giving me this information is to write a letter to me at "The House of Commons, London SW1A 0AA". With many cases there are reference numbers, used by the relevant authorities for your case and it is helpful to have those numbers with the correspondence. You can also contact me using email on hodgem@parliament.uk
If you would like me to take up a case as Minister of State at the Department for Trade & Industry, you should contact your MP first who will check that I am the Minister responsible for the issue you wish to raise. They will then pass your case to me. You can find out who your MP is by calling the House of Commons on 020 7219 3000 and asking for the Information Office.
With best wishes.
