Childcare
Helen has been fighting for better child care to help hard-working parents and was delighted to hear the government announce that there would be more children's centres. The North Warrington Sure Start is a great success. We know that good early-years provision means that children have fewer problems at school and achieve more in later life. Helen has asked the Prime Minister to make sure there are more children's centres in Warrington North.
In addition, she is leading a campaign calling on the government to introduce a statutory payment during parental leave which would benefit all families, especially those on low pay.
Helen continues to visit and support community groups and schemes, such as the Orford Neighbourhood Project, and was proud to be asked to re-launch Café Marriot after refurbishment was completed. The photograph below shows Helen at the re-launch.
