Welcome to my Website

I hope you find the following pages informative and interesting. I have tried to include something for everyone!

My Web site is in large part for constituents but not exclusively so. Many people hear of an area (Constituency) and have an interest in it because of family and friends or after the local MP being interviewed in the press or broadcast media They may also look on the Web and find references on the parliamentary intranet. I have therefore tried to give an overview of the rich history of the constituency, how the area has developed, and its ambitions for the future.

I hope the site will provide a service to my constituents. I am often asked about other organisations and how people can contact them, so I have included a list of names, addresses, and telephone numbers, and where possible electronic addresses, for a range of organisations. I hope this directory will grow and prove to be useful.

You will find methods of contacting me and my staff. On being elected in 2001 one of my first tasks was to set up a Constituency Office. The Constituency Office is open 5 days a week, during normal office hours; and 'phone messages can be left out of hours.

My staff are fully trained and always willing to help whatever the query. If you are a constituent with an issue on which you wish advice, there is no reason to wait for advice surgeries to raise these issues as you can contact my Caseworker at my office at any time.

An up to date list of when surgeries will be held attended either by Caseworker and/or me can be found under Contacts.

Finally I will be posting press releases, articles and speeches, along with information about campaigns.

I hope this will be a 'living' website. I am sure that at the start I will have left something out - there's so much to put in! Please feel welcome to contact me with any constructive suggestions
