Coventry is the city at the centre of England. Having had three Cathedrals, and with two Universities (Warwick and Coventry) it has a hugely interesting history and an exciting future. The city is the home of Jaguar cars, having the Head Office at the Browns Lane assembly plant and the Whitley research and development site. Coventry has an exciting and rejuvenated City Centre with first class shopping and entertainment.

The North East constituency which stretches from the City Centre to the M6 motorway has the Coventry and Warwick hospital which is currently being rebuilt by a P.F.I arrangement at a cost of £350 million pounds. It also has the new arena being built at Foleshill to provide a football stadium, indoor arena and conference facilities.

Coventry North East also has some of the more deprived areas of the city. Three post war council estates are being redeveloped through the new deal for communities programme, and the Foleshill ward is ranked 182nd out of 8,441 of the most deprived wards in the country.
