Woking MP hails successful planning bid rejection

    9th December 2008

Upon hearing the news that the application for a proposed housing development at Woodlands Avenue, West Byfleet, has been rejected, Humfrey Malins hailed a successful campaign involving hundreds of constituents.

Humfrey said, “I went to visit the site myself on the 8th November and it was clear that this was an inappropriate development that would have significantly affected the lives of local residents and the quality of the environment. I must credit the Councillors Richard Wilson, Gary Elson and Graham Cundy for their involvement in opposing the application. I received hundreds of letters from concerned constituents and I am delighted that I, along with my Conservative Councillors, have been able to represent their interests in opposing this development. As with any rejected planning application, we must be wary of a revised plan being submitted, though the developers will now understand that they are going against the will of the community and their elected representatives.”
