Wine Tasting Cheque Presentation

Labour MP for Chorley was presented with a cheque £300 for the Chorley Pals Memorial Fund.
Brian Wilding (pictured with Lindsay) of Chordale Wine Merchants organised a wine tasting event in support the Pals Memorial Fund following its launch earlier this year.
Mr Hoyle said:
“Shortly after launching the Chorley Pals Memorial Fund Brian contacted me to say that he would be willing to organise a wine tasting event in order to raise money in support of the campaign.
“It is this generosity and support which we need if we are to raise the necessary funds to erect a permanent memorial in the town centre to local heroes who paid the ultimate sacrifice on behalf of all of us.”
Brian Wilding said:
“I believe it’s very important that the sacrifice our grandfathers made in the Great War is not forgotten, My wife’s great grandfather, Lance Corporal James Johnson-Moore, was one of the lucky ones, he returned; very many didn’t and I’d like to see their bravery commemorated in the town of their birth.”
