Tory Shadow Transport Minister Visits Canvey Island tomorrow to look at trafic problems
28 April 2009
"The Prime Minister himself and the Government Transport Minister have confirmed that they will fund Canvey's new access road if Essex County Council make it their priority. But Essex Tory Councillors refuse to do so. The Government gave Essex £300 million this year for roads and highways boss, Cllr Norman Hume, said he is 'delighted' (news reports including Essex Enquirer last week.
The Tory Shadow Ministers must tell his Essex Tory councillors to make Canvey's new road their top priority. If he does not, his visit is simply political campaigning, but I welcome him to our lovely Island."
