Tony Baldry MP supports world's biggest pub quiz attempt

    3 March 2010

Last week, North Oxfordshire MP Tony Baldry attended the launch of the World's Biggest Pub quiz which will take place on Thursday 25 March and will involve over 200 venues hosting a quiz to raise money for the Family Holiday Association. In particular, Mr Baldry expressed his support for the three pubs in his constituency taking part in this event.

The Family Holiday Association is a charity which gives disadvantaged children and their family a break away from home. The families they help are dealing with poverty, inadequate housing, chronic illness or bereavement. Giving them a chance to enjoy the simple things in life and be together away from their stresses and strains is imperative for securing, and in some cases rebuilding, family relationships. Over 100,000 families have been helped in the past 35 years with activities ranging from day trips to week-long holidays at the seaside.

Tony Baldry said, "I am thrilled that these three pubs in my constituency are taking part in this event. The Family Holiday Association gives children time away with their families that they would not otherwise have had. It is an opportunity for the whole family to concentrate on each other and enjoy themselves.

"I myself am looking forward to taking part in the quiz and would encourage people to do the same to support this great cause and break the world record."

The three pubs in North Oxfordshire taking part in this quiz are:

    The Bell Inn

    High Street

    Adderbury, OX17 3LS

    The George and Dragon

    Church Lane

    Shutford

    Banbury, OX15 6PG

    The Great Western Arms

    Aynho Wharf

    Station Road

    Banbury, OX17 3BP
