Tony Baldry appointed carers week Parliamentary ambassador

North Oxfordshire MP Tony Baldry has been appointed a Parliamentary Ambassador for Carers Week and for carers across the UK. The appointment, made by Carers UK, is a result of Mr Baldry's position as vice-chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Carers and will see him taking part in various activities during Carers Week. Running from 14th to 20th June, the week is an opportunity for the work of carers to be recognised, and for policies to be outlined.

Tony Baldry said, "The work of carers is invaluable but all too often goes without recognition. Carers Week provides an opportunity for the contribution of carers to be promoted and I look forward to being able to speak out for carers as Parliamentary Ambassador."

Alongside Tony, Paul Burstow MP and Hywel Francis MP have also been invited to be Parliamentary Ambassadors.
