Sandra Osborne MP campaigns against repeal of hunting act

      25 June 2010

Sandra Osborne MP is campaigning in Parliament against the repeal of the Hunting Act 2004 following concern from constituents about the new coalition government's confirmation that MPs will be offered a vote on repeal of the Hunting Act

      Sandra said

'Large numbers of constituents have written to me to raise their concerns about this. I have voted for an outright ban before and I will do so again if the opportunity arises. The Hunting Act is an important piece of animal welfare legislation. I believe that any attempt to repeal the Act would be a retrograde step and out of keeping with a civilised society and have happily signed a motion in Parliament to this effect.'
