MP opens new Brinnington school extension
26 March 2010
MP Ann Coffey has been invited to officially open the fantastic new facilities at Westmorland Primary School in Brinnington.
Westmorland has benefited from primary capital spending of £1.6million, which has enhanced the school by providing three new classrooms, a drama and dance room, the latest information technology in every classroom, new changing facilities and a five-a-side sports Astroturf pitch.
Martin Henderson, the school's proud headteacher, said:
"Westmorland, following this project, can now be seen as an exciting hub within this community offering more services to families and young people than ever before. Brinnington deserves this amazing resource and everyone involved deserves thanks for ensuring that Westmorland will become an even more exciting place to come and learn."
Ann Coffey said:
"I first saw these marvelous new classrooms when it was still a building site – so I am thrilled to be invited to officially open them. Westmorland is a thriving school and, with this investment complete, will go from strength to strength. I am sure the children's learning will benefit from everything the new facilities have to offer."
