MP BRINGS CHRISTMAS CHEER TO SALVATION ARMY

On Friday 15th December 2006, David Amess MP (Southend West) made his annual visit to the Salvation Army at Elm Road, Leigh on Sea to donate Christmas gifts to those that use that centre.

David, dressed as Father Christmas, arrived at their Christmas lunch to deliver the generous donations from Woolworths and Waitrose and lead everyone in some festive carols.

Speaking after the visit David said.

‘. The Salvation Army in Leigh on Sea provides an essential service for those in the community that, for whatever reason, do not have family and friends to spend Christmas with. It is very important that we do not forget those less fortunate than ourselves at this time of year and I would like to wish both staff and visitors all the very best for Christmas and the New Year.’
