National train performance for May 2011 is 93.7 per cent

Punctuality on the railways reached 93.7% during May, according to monthly performance data released today by Network Rail. The data for Britain's train services covers the period from May 1-28. This compares 93.7% for the same period last year. The moving annual average is now at 90.8%.

PPM

PPM is a % measure of passenger trains arriving 'on time' at their scheduled destination. For long distance trains 'on time' is within 10 minutes of the timetabled arrival time, for all others it is within 5 minutes.

Heathrow Express, Grand Central, Hull Trains and Eurostar are not included in the National PPM.
