Lib Dem MPs must pull plug on NHS Bill as Cameron advisor says 'NHS will be shown no mercy'

Britnell saying that "the NHS will be a state insurance provider not a state deliverer" has revealed the real intentions of the Tory Party with the NHS bill before Parliament

GMB responded to statements which have come to light by Mark Britnell, a former high-flyer in the Department of Health, now global head of health at KPMG, and recent appointee to David Cameron's “kitchen cabinet” of health experts to advise on health service reform.

It was reported in a blog on 9th May that just six months ago, Britnell told a conference of private healthcare executives: “In future, the NHS will be a state insurance provider not a state deliverer.” In case there was any ambiguity in that, Britnell explained to conference delegates (in a session called 'Reform Revolution'): “The NHS will be shown no mercy and the best time to take advantage of this will be in the next couple of years." The Tory Party has no mandate for this nor does it have the votes in the Commons without the Lib Dems MPs. The Liberal Democrats have to pull the plug on the Bill.

All they need to do is to look at Southern Cross where unstainable rents puts 31,000 elderly residents in care homes at risk of being made homeless to see what the private sector will do to the NHS.”
