Press Release
Director of investment affairs
8 February 2011
The ABI has informed members today that Jonathan Davis has decided not to take up the role of Director of Investment Affairs.
Jonathan Davis said:
“I have agreed with the ABI that I will not, after all, be joining it as its Director of Investment Affairs, as announced in November. A number of my other commitments are unfortunately taking up more time than expected, making it difficult to fulfill this full-time role on the basis we originally discussed. We have agreed however that I will provide some independent consultancy work for the organisation over the course of this year”.
“I am fortunate to have a wide range of professional interests and regret that it has not been possible to take on this new challenge. I will now be completing my book on the investment methods of John Templeton, bringing forward the launch of a new investment newsletter for my publishing venture Independent Investor and expect to announce shortly some further additions to my non-executive, writing and investment interests. I wish the ABI well. It continues to represent a very important constituent of the UK shareholder base.”
ABI Acting Director General, Maggie Craig, said:
“We understand that Jonathan's additional work commitments now make it impossible for him to take up the Director of Investment Affairs role, but we look forward to working with him during the year on a consultancy basis.
“Hugh Savill will continue as Acting Director of Investment Affairs reporting to me and Investment Committee Chairman, Alain Dromer. The ABI has already begun a new recruitment process and will make a further announcement in due course.”
