Further speakers TBC

In light of the current Defra consultation 'Measuring and reporting of greenhouse gas emissions by UK companies', at this event, we will examine the options and potential impacts upon companies trying to reduce their carbon emissions.

Core issues under scrutiny will be:

•The appropriateness of the options, including mandatory reporting (something our last report, 'Energy Efficiency: The Untapped Business Opportunity', called for)

•The comparative costs of each option and how to quantify what size of company they should apply to

•How current emissions reporting frameworks might be simplified to enable comparisons between companies and sectors

•How reporting mechanisms can be made consistent with current regulatory requirements such as the Carbon Reduction Commitment (CRC)

Each of the panel members will give a short speech, after which audience members will be invited to participate in a Q&A and discussion.

The event will be of interest to environmental policy professionals, elected officials and anyone whose organisation may be affected by changes to the rules.
