National Union of Teachers

Events

The Association of Teachers and Lecturers (ATL), the National Association of Head Teachers (NAHT) and the National Union of Teachers (NUT) have jointly published Common Ground on Assessment and Accountability in Primary Schools which calls for an end to the excessive, confused and overlapping test and exam-based accountability system in England.

Given that the government is currently conducting a review of Key Stage 2 testing, we are pleased that Lisa Nandy MP is kindly hosting and chairing the joint parliamentary launch of this timely document.

The event will take place in the Thatcher Room in Portcullis House from 4.15 to 6.00 pm on 11 January 2011. Lord Bew, Chair of Key Stage 2 Assessment Review will be attending the launch and will outline the remit and timetable of his review. Speaking alongside us on the panel will be Warwick Mansell, author of ‘Education by Numbers: the Tyranny of Testing’.
