High Speed Rail Dialogue

High Speed Rail Dialogue

The DODS High Speed Rail Dialogue is designed to facilitate discussion on one of the striking challenges for transport policy in the 21st century.

The programme of research and dialogue has commenced with a full stakeholder review and will focus on the views of the citizen, the industry stakeholder and the policy-maker. The dialogue will seek to answer what needs to be the central question – what is high speed rail the answer to?

All three political parties have underlined their support for high speed rail in order to help to deliver a vast array of socio-economic benefits. But what are they? The DODS High Speed Rail Dialogue has been designed to flush out these ideas in an open and transparent manner, amongst all those materially affected by the proposal.

DODS seeks to confirm its position as 'the first name in political information and communication' by bringing the issues surrounding high speed rail to the attention of parliamentarians, stakeholders and members of the public. This will be achieved through honest, open debate and dialogue, ahead of the forthcoming 2010 general election and thereafter.
