Leaflets
We publish public-focused leaflets which explain the importance of making sure your optician is registered and the standards in training, behaviour and care you can expect when you have visit an optician. They also emphasise the importance of regular sight tests, and what to do if you have a complaint about an optometrist or dispensing optician.

Searching the registers online
We want to encourage everyone to check their optician is registered so our registers are available online to search. The link is http://www.optical.org/en/our_work/Registration/search_the_registers.cfm

Promoting registration
We encourage the professionals registered with us (our registrants) to make the most of their registration by downloading a special 'I'm registered' logo which includes their unique GOC registration number. This may be displayed on their website, practice stationery or other printed materials. Optical businesses may use the 'We're registered' logo.

The Eyecare Trust provides generic information on eye care and health issues

The British Contact Lens Association is the education and scientific membership organisation for contact lens practitioners.
The College of Optometrists is the professional and scientific organisation for UK optometry
