The government has called for the public to comment on its draft legislative programme (DLP).

The set of legislative proposals form part of the wider 'Building Britain's future' programme which was announced by the prime minister in June.

Commons leader Harrier Harman has asked the public: "Do you think the draft legislative programme reflects the right priorities for the United Kingdom and, if not, what other issues do you think the government should be addressing?"

The government's legislation will be debated in the last session of this parliament, which begins in November and must end by June 2010.

The DLP includes a Constitutional Renewal Bill that will reform the House of Lords, new legislation on bribery, a Child Poverty Bill, new flood and water management measures and a bill to boost the UK's digital economy.

There is also new legislation on financial regulation, improving schools and safeguarding children and a potential law to prohibit cluster munitions.
