NASUWT comments on the UK Independence Party manifesto

    28th September 2010

Former UK Independence Party leader Nigel Farage is to face three challengers in his bid to regain control of the party.

As nominations closed for the leadership elections, David Campbell-Bannerman, economist Tim Congdon and former boxer Winston McKenzie had secured the required support to stand.

Farage stood down as leader last year to fight an unsuccessful campaign against Commons Speaker John Bercow in the general election.

A new leadership contest was triggerd when Lord Pearson of Rannoch quit the role, saying he was not cut out for the job.

UKIP members will vote in a postal ballot, with the new leader annouced on November 5.
