Unite calls off strike pending ballot results
26 October 2007
Unite members who were due to take strike action at the Norfolk & Norwich Hospital in Colney over claims of parity with their colleagues in the NHS, have called off one of two planned 48 hour strikes.
Staff employed in the Estates and Works Department by Serco Services have called off the 48 hour stoppage which was due to commence at 7.30am on Monday 29th October pending the results of a ballot. The planned strike for Monday 5th November will continue if the ballot results are not in favour of a revised offer.
Unite Regional Officer, Mark Robinson, said:
“Following further consultations with the company, a better offer has been put forward to the workforce. We are now balloting our members and will strike on the 5th if the offer is rejected."
