Labour completes Ken's return

Ken Livingstone has been chosen as Labour’s official mayoral candidate.

Following his readmission to the party, the mayor needed just over 50 per cent of the vote of London’s Labour and trade union members to secure the nomination.

And party members gave him their overwhelming backing, with figures showing 94 per cent support.

The news brought criticism from Livingstone's mayoral opponents.

Steve Norris, the Conservative candidate, said the news was "disappointing for Londoners".
