Thousands of anti-war protestors are again set to make their presence felt over the Iraq crisis.

The Stop the War Coalition has called for a people's assembly to gather at Westminster Central Hall to protest at Britain and America's campaign.

The event, expected to attract students, church groups, union activists and seasoned anti-war campaigners, followed a series of noisy protests around the country at the weekend.

One of the meeting's central calls will be for a day of national industrial action if the war goes ahead and organisers are confident of mobilising public opinion again.

"It is Tony Blair who find himself 'in material breach' of the express wishes of the people of this country," said John Rees of the Stop the War Campaign.

"Two million people marched up the hill with us last month and we have no intention of marching them down again. The people's assembly will be a springboard for a much more powerful range of anti-war activities than we've seen so far."
