Shadow minister for young people Charles Hendry has set out his views on Conservative plans for online consultations.

"I am extremely encouraged by the very positive reaction ePolitix.com has received to this initiative," he said.

"These 4000 organisations are just a first step and we will now be working to include young people directly and other organisations, which will soon be able to sign up for the service through the Conservative Party website.

"I entirely accept the views of Centrepoint and the YMCA that we need to reach the most disadvantaged young people as well and I hope we can work together to work out how best this can be done.

"I am also keen to involve YouthNet which is installing computer terminals in youth clubs and elsewhere and who can help us reach these important groups."
