Welcome

The Wise Group exists to help unemployed people to find, and keep a job.

Since 1983 we have helped people from across Scotland and the North East of England to move into employment, in 2004 alone we helped 2,421 people to move into work.

We deliver a range of large and small-scale programmes and tailor our services to each client. As a not-for-profit organisation we are purely motivated by the needs of our clients and so can dedicate the time and resource needed to help the most difficult to reach individuals.

Our activities include:

  • Intermediate Labour Market (ILM) programmes, that significantly contribute to the wider regeneration of communities.
  • Sector specific pre-employment programmes working with employers such as the call centre industry, the service sector, social care organisations and the NHS.
  • Employment programmes tailored to address the barriers of specific client groups such as people on Incapacity Benefit, homeless people, ex-offenders and refugees and asylum seekers.
  • The programme management of large-scale contracts such as New Deal for Young People, the Employment Zone and New Deal for Disabled People.

We take a holistic approach to employment, recognising that different people face different barriers to labour market entry. As a result we have also developed a range of specialist programmes that help our clients to address their individual barriers through the medium of work. Our central belief is that work is the best means of addressing poverty and inequality amongst the UK’s most disadvantaged communities.
